Kalimat is the first publishing house in the UAE dedicated solely to publishing and distributing quality Arabic children’s books with global production standards. In less than two years, Kalimat has published 25 titles, including picture books, baby books, concept books and fables. Based in Sharjah, but already active around the Arab world, Kalimat is well-renowned for its distinguished design, eye-catching illustrations, and innovative content.

Sourcing out the best Arab children’s authors and illustrators, Kalimat plans to publish at least 50 books every year for ages 0-16. Central to the Kalimat range are titles that handle parent-child relationships (Zein Series), milestones of growing up (Yasmina Series) re-workings of ancient Arabic fables (Kalila Wa Dimna Series) as well as covering rarely introduced concepts in children’s literature such as dealing with death in the book Jaddati Wal Qamar and being left-handed in the book Ana Wa Yadi Al Yusra.
